First Aid is the immediate care provided to a person who is injured or suddenly becomes ill. Its primary goal is to stabilize the individual until professional medical help arrives.
Start by checking for responsiveness. If unresponsive, call for help and begin chest compressions at a rate of 100-120 per minute. Combine compressions with rescue breaths in a ratio of 30:2 until professional help arrives.
Encourage the person to cough forcefully. If coughing doesn't work, perform the Heimlich maneuver by giving quick abdominal thrusts until the obstruction is cleared or emergency assistance arrives.
Cool the burn with running water for at least 10 minutes. Cover the burn loosely with a sterile, non-stick bandage. Do not use ice, ointments, or adhesive bandages directly on the burn. Seek medical attention for severe burns.
Apply direct pressure to the wound using a clean cloth or bandage. Elevate the injured area if possible and seek medical help immediately.
